If you drive a 207, 308 (T7), 408, 508, RCZ, etc, with THP engine (also known as Prince Engine), especially those produced before 2012, I would suggest you replace the Timing Chain Tensioner with the newly improved one in the market, as soon as you can. Unless you have record that indicated the tensioner or complete timing chain kit was recently replaced with kit produced recently.
The early THP engines timing chain tensioner was causing loss of tension on timing chain. But the tensioner has been redesigned and improved on in later lions with THP engines. The old tensioner is no longer produced, unless one buys an old stock. So buy one produced recently.
You can buy only the new tensioner separately and replace (if chain has not started giving rattling noise for long) or buy and replace the complete timing chain kit if you are not sure or if you had driven with the rattling for long, enough to stretch the chain. Either way, with the new tensioner in, you will have no business again with that chamber, as long as good quality recommended engine oil is used.
Drive with pride!
