Dreams & Research.

You suddenly got this idea to buy this V6 Lion, Lion with a powerful powertrain, a brand new Peugeot or one particular Lion. You got so excited that you began to ask around or check online for other people’s opinion on that Lion. Then you probably started getting unexpected feedback how nightmare that Animal you are interested in would be for you if you venture in. They try to prove to you with figures, facts, logics or proofs of how right they were about that Lion. Then your excitement suddenly drops. You felt so powerless that you could no longer
go for that Lion you so much desired, because others have proved or convinced you it would be unsafe or wrong to attempt fulfilling that dream or idea. You now probably decided to “settle” for that which they want you to or think it’s better for you, with good intentions sometimes.

You suddenly got this idea of a business, vacation, relationship or a project which started exciting you from the moment the idea came to you until you started to research on it. You probably sadly dropped the dream, after realizing from your research how stupid the idea was.

Your misery may not start the day you started the research or dropped the dream, but could start weeks, months or years later when you start seeing others driving and enjoying same Peugeot car they scared you away from; seeing others progressing or thriving in the same business idea your research warned you would be a disaster or not serve you; seeing others living happily ever after in similar or identical relationships they warned you to run for your dare life, etc.

I am not asking you to do anything or don’t do anything. But I do know this: Every subject has 2 subjects, negative and positive. The part you seek for is what you get. And most importantly, everyone creates his or her own reality. If you choose to accept another man’s reality as the truth, then it becomes your own truth as well, your reality.

If the strong desire in you is to have that brand new Peugeot or any of the lions still in existence, then remove every other person out of the picture. If you decide to drop your idea or dream, do it because you want to, not because others want you to with their perspectives, definitions or opinions of your idea or dream. For “Research Can Be a Dream Killer,” which breeds Conformity. You always make the right choice. Always.

Ikenna, Lion King.
