Peugeot 2008 DkR won the Dakar 2016 Endurance Rally.

When the Peugeot 2008 DKR was revealed in 2015, I was very certain that the Lion was going to win the rally. It was that obvious.
It was a 15 days tough rally, which started on 02/01/2016 and ended on 16/01/2016. It was one of the toughest endurance rally ever in the world. The distance was about 9,000 km, from Argentina to Bolivia.
Over 300 Vehicles, including Bikes, participated in the endurance rally. At the end, the aggressive Lion, Peugeot 2008 DKR driven by Stephane Peterhansel and his co-driver Jean-Paul Cottret, won the rally. Of course, it was not surprising that Peugeot won the race. Because that's what Peugeot cars are known for, built for hard tough road conditions, reliable and durable.
The Peugeot 3.0 Litre twin turbo Diesel V6 engine. Yes, a Diesel powered Peugeot car won the race. Go figure! The engine develops about maximum 350 bhp and 800 Nm. Another interesting thing about the Lion is it's a 2-wheel drive car and yet won the race. The Lion has Michelin tyres, of course.
Well, when it comes to ruggedness, toughness, reliability, durability, power and friendliness, you have Peugeot.
